The Township Clerk acts as secretary to the Township Board; is responsible for the conduct of all national, state, and local elections (including school elections); keeps an accurate record of all financial transactions of the Townships; acts as agent for the Township (along with the Supervisor); keeps separate minutes for the regular and special meetings of the Township Board of Trustees; and serves as chairman of the Township Election Commission, which performs the functions of appointing election inspectors and orders the creation, alteration, or revision of precinct boundaries according to registered voter population. In addition to regular duties expected of him/her by law, the clerk may issue all notices of publication for all matters affecting the Township as determined by the Township Board of Trustees. These may include requesting sealed bids for various purchases or jobs. He/she also performs such duties as may be determined by the Township Board of Trustees.
