I am honored to continue serving you. The Township is open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. My Deputy Treasurer and I hold office hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to help you navigate Township services and answer Treasurer specific questions. I’ve worked hard to make online payments available. You can click the link on this page to pay your taxes. If you have any questions, you are welcome to call or email us with any of your concerns.

The Treasurer’s office keeps records of all receipts and disbursements of Township funds, with the majority of time spent on the collection of taxes.  The Buchanan Community School District, Lake Michigan College (LMC), and the Berrien Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) pay the township a per parcel fee to collect the taxes they levy during the summer cycle (July 1 – Sept. 14).  The State Education Tax (of six mills) and the County general tax are collected in the summer cycle as well.  The taxes levied by the Township and other taxing entities are collected during the winter cycle (Dec. 1 – Feb. 14).  In 2019, 2563 tax bills were mailed to Buchanan Township property owners.  The Treasurer’s office also issues dog licenses on behalf of Berrien County Animal Control during the winter cycle.
